Now, the mod has been scraped and is being recreated for the game called Savage 2: A Tortured Soul, a sequel to Savage: The Battle for Newerth, being developed by S2 Games. Just a brief overview here, this game is a combination of all three main genres of video games: RPG, RTS, and FPS. No where near as good as battlezone or battlezone II The game does allow you to select a character type and as you kill enemies, mine resources, build structures, etc., you increase your level and can upgrade your armor/weapons/skills. The game also allows one player on each team to be the “commander,” much like you can in games such as battlezone, battlezone II, Natural Selection, Battlefield 2 and Battlefield 2142. As the commander, you manage your teams resources, control the AI units on your team, set waypoints, issue team-wide orders, build structures, etc. Finally, the game allows for the player to play in first-person mode. This mode comes in handy when a player is using a ranged weapon such as a gun or bow.
